The ThreadBanger boss has asked that you look at an area in your home that is a little plain, drap or needs jazzing up and create a simple piece of soft furnishing to be made from textile materials and making use of two or more fabric decoration techniques. You have been allocated a budget of $30 so you may consider using recycled materials to keep the cost to a minimum.
The company boss has asked you to keep a video of you making this furnishing item so that it can be edited and included on their video tutorial page. The video needs to show the preparation, steps of construction and final product in a maximum 3 minute funky video to encourage viewers to undertake the project themselves. To design, produce and evaluate a soft furnishing item for the an area of your home, the item is to be made from textile materials and make use of at least 2 or more of fabric decoration techniques.
You also need to create a video tutorial to be included on the ThreadBanger website.

The word limitation is something that limits you to doing something. for example one limitation is that we have a budget of $30, and this could have an affect on the final product. it is also a restriction and/or boundary.
1. Cost
we have a budget of $30. we wont eb able to use more than that ammount, in that case it might affect our final product.
2. Time
time is a limitaion because we only have about 5 weeks to complete the wikipage. 3. Availability Of Fabric -If i want a particular material or decoration that isn't available this will affect my final product as it will look different which could affect my mark. 4. Availability Of Tools - If my tools for sewing my self-furnishing together are not available or if there are none, my final product will look different which affects the final product.
Criteria for Success
At the beginning of any project you must set a criteria to make sure your product/project is successful. This will be one way of evaluating whether you have satisfied the brief at the end of the project. The criteria you set needs to be clear and be able to be seen at the end of the project.
Examples of a design criteria:
Needs to be completed by the deadline.
Must cost less than $30 to produce.
i have to use fabric and textile materials.
i have to use a sueing machine or by hand
the pillow has to decorate to fit the room. so the colours and patterns have to go well with the room.
the pillow has to be decorated nicley. it has to fit perfectly with the room.

Function- the role or actions of a person, thing or institution: the purpose of something that exists.
- This factor needs to be considered in my project so i know what the purpose of my pillow is and what it is for.
Aesthetics- the way something looks, especially when considered in terms of how pleasing it is
- Aesthetics are important factors whenever designing or creating, it is important make our creation so it looks good.
Human form- relating to, involving, or characteristics of human beings.
-This factor does not need to be considered when making a self-furnishing
Scale- a ratio representing the size of an illustration or reproduction, especially a map or a model, in relation to the object it represents.
-The way this factor would need to be considered, is when drawing the self-furnishing we have a ratio to put it to the real life scale.
Ergonomics- The technology concerned with the design, manufacture, and arrangement of products and environments to be safe, healthy, and comfortable for people.
-This factor needs to be considered when creating as we want the product to be comfortable and safe for the people using.
Ethical - being moraly right - whats right and whats wrong.
-When making a self furnishing, whats right and whats wrong needs to be considered because we don't want our finished product to be wrong.
Environmental - Relating to or being concerned with the impact on the environment.
-When we make our pillow we don't want to harm the people and the environment around us in any way.
Legislation-the making or giving of laws.
-We don't need to give or make laws when creating a pillow.
